One AI Agent Across Chat Platforms: Team Collaboration With Leina

Use one Leina instance across supported chat platforms such as WeCom and Discord. Learn how chat entry points, business-app connections, and permissions work together.

Distinct team conversation spaces connect through separate paths to one shared collaboration hub

Conceptual illustration: familiar chat entry points connected to one shared agent instance.

Project discussions happen in WeCom, community conversations in Discord, and the information needed to finish a task lives in business apps. Maintaining a separate AI agent for every chat platform adds connection and administration work.

One Leina server-side instance can connect to multiple supported chat platforms. A team can begin in an existing work group and add entry points as needed, without buying an independent instance solely to use another chat platform.

Successful cross-platform use starts with three decisions: where people request work, where the agent obtains business data, and who is allowed to use that data.

Chat Entry Points, Agent Instances, and App Connections

Each layer has a different role:

LayerPurposeExample
Chat entry pointReceive tasks and conversationsA WeCom work group or Discord channel
Leina instanceHandle tasks from supported entry pointsThe Leina instance used by the team
Business connectionProvide authorized data and operationsA document or business app with the required search action

Connecting chat is followed by connecting the apps needed for the actual task. Being able to message the agent does not automatically grant access to data in other software.

Different Entry Points, One Instance

Multiple entry points share one Leina instance. Business apps still require their own connections and authorization.

This illustrates connectivity. It does not mean messages, identities, or historical context are automatically merged across platforms. When continuing work elsewhere, supply the project name, source links, and current objective explicitly.

Example: Two Conversations About One Project

Consider a team coordinating project delivery in WeCom and community feedback in Discord. Both entry points connect to one Leina instance, and the relevant business apps support the required queries and have been authorized.

An internal project group might request:

Find this week’s meeting notes for Project A in our connected project documents. Summarize decisions and open questions, include source links, and post the result in this group. Read documents only.

A community work group might request:

Summarize this week’s questions about Feature B from the authorized feedback records. Combine duplicates and preserve source links. Use only data this group is allowed to access.

These tasks share an instance but have different sources, participants, and output destinations. Check access for each entry point. Belonging to the same project does not automatically make internal information suitable for another group.

Expand From One Entry Point to Several

Use this sequence as a rollout guide. Consult Getting Started and the current console for supported setup options.

  1. Choose an initial workflow. Pick a task with a clear source, known participants, and an output that is easy to verify, such as summarizing project notes.
  2. Connect the required chat platform. Confirm that the platform and connection method are supported by the current plan.
  3. Configure app connections and permissions. Connect an appropriate account and check the available actions and member or group access scope.
  4. Verify one complete task. Review its source links, output, and destination.
  5. Add a second entry point. Review permissions for its participants instead of copying every permission from the first group.

Each additional entry point then supports a verified workflow, with a clear purpose for the team.

Questions to Resolve Before Expanding

Does a shared instance mean identical features on every platform?

A shared instance describes the server-side connection relationship. Message formats, connection requirements, and supported interactions can differ. Check the actual platform support before reusing a workflow elsewhere.

Does it mean every platform has the same costs?

Not needing a separate instance does not make every connection or usage charge free. Review platform conditions, included usage, and additional charges on the pricing page.

Can an internal summary be sent to an external group?

Check whether it contains internal information and whether the destination group’s members may receive it. Both source access and the output audience matter. See team agent permission management.

Start With Work the Team Already Does

Cross-platform access lets people use a shared agent in their existing collaboration environment. Begin with a task, specify the source, scope, and output location, then expand after verifying the result.
